Summer is not very long at all where we live and that’s why we want to enjoy it fully. This means we spend most of our days outside. We like gardening, going for walks, visiting the beach, or simply enjoying being together around our backyard playing in the dirt. All that time spent outdoors is so good for our health and our mood and makes memories we’ll cherish forever. Read more about the benefits of being outdoors here.
Summers are busy and we need healthy treats ready to grab, bonus if we can enjoy them while running carefree in the grass.

I love making popsicles in the summer. They make such fun and refreshing treats for the kids (and grown-ups), and they are so easy to make. All you need is to blend the ingredients, pour them into the molds and freeze. The hardest part, really, is waiting for them to freeze solid and be ready to be eaten!
You can make popsicles out of any fruit you like and get creative with combinations. You can make them out of fruit juice, or pureed fruit (my favourite), and add other ingredients as well. Adding yogurt or cream will make your popsicles creamier and more nutritious.
Healthy, simple ingredients
These delicious popsicles are made with simple ingredients: cherries and yogurt. Ripe cherries are so deliciously sweet that there is no need to add any sweetener to these popsicles.
To make these popsicles creamy and rich in beneficial probiotics, I use my homemade yogurt, but store-bought yogurt will work just fine. Collagen or gelatin is optional for this recipe and makes it higher in proteins, also boosting the gut-healthy properties of these frozen treats (read about all the benefits of collagen and gelatin here).

What you’ll need to make these cherry yogurt popsicles
- 200 grams fresh or frozen cherries, pitted
- 100 g yogurt
- 200 ml water
- 1 scoop grass-fed collagen or gelatin, optional
How to make these cherry yogurt popsicles
- Blend ingredients using a hand or immersion blender or a food processor until smooth.
- Pour into popsicles (6) molds.
- Place in the freezer in upright position and freeze until completely solid (usually 3-6 hours).

I like using stainless steel molds (like these ones) over plastic ones for making my popsicles to avoid all the toxic chemicals plastic is loaded with. To easily remove the popsicles from their molds once frozen, place them in some warm water for a moment.
