What Is Gelatin and Why Is It Good For You?
Gelatin is a protein derived from collagen (found in bones, skin, and connective tissues). While traditional nose-to-tail diets were naturally rich in collagen and gelatin through bone broths and slow-cooked meats, most modern diets don’t get much of it anymore. That’s why I love using grass-fed beef gelatin powder and collagen to support my family’s health.
The amino acids in gelatin support:
- Restful sleep & metabolism
- Gut health & digestion
- Joint comfort and mobility
- Skin, hair, and nails

ingredients For This Strawberry Jello with Beef Gelatin
Strawberries. Fresh or frozen both work. Frozen berries are picked at peak ripeness, so they’re a great option when fresh aren’t in season.
Grass-fed beef gelatin. This is what helps the jello set and gives it its gut-healing benefits. I recommend using a clean, pasture-raised brand like this one.
Water. Used both for simmering and blooming the gelatin. Use non-chlorinated or filtered water.
Honey (optional). Adds a touch of extra sweetness, but you can leave it out if your strawberries are sweet enough.
How To Make This Strawberry Jello with Beef Gelatin
Step 1: In a medium pot, simmer the strawberries with half the water for about 5 minutes, until softened.
Step 2: Meanwhile, sprinkle the gelatin over the remaining water and let it bloom (absorb) for 5 minutes.
Step 3: Scoop a bit of the hot strawberry liquid into a jar or beaker. Add the bloomed gelatin and blend with an immersion blender until dissolved.
Step 4: Add the rest of the strawberries and liquid, plus honey if using, and puree until smooth.
Step 5: Pour into a glass dish, jar, or molds. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, until fully set.
Step 6: Slice into cubes, scoop into bowls, or cut into fun shapes before serving.
Notes
Store in the fridge for up to 5 days.
For extra fun, use silicone molds or cookie cutters to make kid-friendly shapes.
